Notes on websites, SEO and running online stores
What we changed on our own stores, what it cost us and what happened afterwards. Written for small business owners and store owners in Australia who have to make the call themselves, by the people who did the work.
What is in here
Three kinds of article, and nothing else
Solkarra runs its own online stores on the same tools it sells, so an article here is a report on work we actually did rather than a summary of advice we read somewhere. If we cannot say what it cost or what moved afterwards, we do not write it up.
Every figure in an article is either ours, with the store and the date attached, or it carries the source it came from. Prices are in Australian dollars, GST inclusive.
The three
Work we did
An audit, a migration or a fix on one of our own stores, with the numbers and the parts that went wrong. The standing version of that work is on the SEO and business management page.
Decisions
The calls a small business has to make about a platform, a rebuild or a price, with our position and the trade-off stated. What we build and what it costs is on the websites page.
What shipped
Releases in the software we run the shops on, and what each one does for the person using it. The rank tracking and audit side of it is SolSEO.
